The Dyslexia Canada Educational Excellence Awards celebrate exceptional dedication within school communities in supporting students with dyslexia. This award recognizes the outstanding contributions of various individuals, including educators, principals, administrators, librarians, psychologists, speech and language pathologists, and others. These individuals showcase remarkable commitment and innovation in ensuring equitable education for students with dyslexia. Additionally, this award extends to schools or school boards that have spearheaded remarkable programs or initiatives specifically designed to support and empower students with dyslexia.
We seek individuals and school boards/districts who have contributed to raising awareness of dyslexia within their communities, supported the adoption of scientifically-evidence-based reading instruction for all children, initiated efforts to encourage early screening for dyslexia and reading challenges, and worked diligently to ensure impactful and effective interventions for students' reading needs.
The online nomination form is your opportunity to highlight their dedication, innovation, collaboration, and impactful efforts. Whether it's an exceptional teacher, a visionary school leader, or a groundbreaking program, we invite you to submit nominations outlining their contributions.
The achievements will be celebrated nationally.
Nominations will be open from January 19th - February 16th, 2024.

Selection Criteria
You have the option to nominate yourself, your team, or extend a nomination for someone else. Applications undergo a thorough evaluation by the Dyslexia Canada team, considering the following criteria:
Commitment to Dyslexia Support: Showcased unwavering dedication to assisting dyslexic students within the school community. Could you elaborate on your contributions to raising awareness of dyslexia within your community?
Impact and Results: For individual nominees, the depth and breadth of their contributions to supporting dyslexic students, while for school or school board nominees, the comprehensive impact and effectiveness of their programs or initiatives. The subsequent questions can serve as a guide: In what ways have you supported the adoption of scientifically evidence-based reading instruction for all children? What efforts have you made to encourage early screening for dyslexia and reading challenges? How have you worked to guarantee that students receive impactful and effective interventions for their reading needs?
Collaborative Approach: Evidence of collaborative teamwork among staff, emphasizing collective efforts in cultivating an inclusive environment for dyslexic students.
Sustainability and Scalability: Development of programs or initiatives with sustainability and scalability, ensuring enduring impact and potential for broader implementation.
