Make a gift
Your gift will enable children with dyslexia from across Canada to feel supported and encouraged at home, in the classroom and in the community, and to grow up with greater confidence and success. We hope you will help.
Ways to give
Make a one-time gift
Large or small, your secure gift will be gratefully accepted and will help children with dyslexia move forward with confidence, knowing they are not alone and support is available.
Sign up for monthly giving
Monthly giving is an amazing way to support children with dyslexia. You can select an amount that meets your budget. Of course, your gift can be changed or cancelled at any time.
Celebrate or honour a loved one
Make a gift to celebrate a milestone such as a retirement, anniversary, birthday, graduation or other special occasion. Honour the memory of a loved one after they have passed.
Employee Giving
If your employer has an Employee Giving Program consider a gift from each paycheque, or a one time donation. Check if your employer will match your donation for an easy way to double your impact!
Host your own event
Host your own bake sale, bottle drive, virtual event or shave your head – the sky is the limit. Reach out to our Fundraising Manager ahead of your event for tips and support to maximize the total amount raised.
Sponsorship
Sponsorships allow us to run a variety of programmes and events throughout the year to raise the profile of dyslexia and help children and their parents/caregivers feel connected and informed.
Legacy giving
When you include a gift in your Will (a bequest) to Dyslexia Canada, you invest in the future of children with dyslexia across Canada. It’s truly a wonderful legacy to leave and we would be honoured to help you.
Get your school involved
Help raise awareness for the 2-4 kids in every classroom with dyslexia. Wear red, create a red craft or read a book featuring a character with dyslexia. Start the conversation, share your story, and raise money for Dyslexia Canada.
Make a gift of securities
A donation of securities or mutual fund shares is a tax-effective way to give charitably. By donating securities directly to Dyslexia Canada, capital gains tax is eliminated allowing you to donate more.
Provide in kind support
Dyslexia Canada is always looking for individuals and businesses who generously provide professional skills, services, and expertise in a pro-bono capacity. Reach out to us today to discuss how you can become a part of the team.
Donate your car
Donate a Car Canada accepts vehicle donations on behalf of Dyslexia Canada. Free towing is provided in most areas across Canada or you can even drop off your own vehicle to maximize your donation.
Why give?
Your donation will make an impact on children with dyslexia and their families across Canada by:
Bringing together communities across the nation in raising awareness of dyslexia, empowering voices of young people and proving a platform for families to build their support network through our annual Mark it Read campaign.
Helping children and their parents/caregivers meet others with dyslexia, share their experiences and learn strategies to succeed through the development of our webinars, podcasts, blogs and events.
Supporting family connections so that parents/caregivers can receive advice and support one another in a judgment-free community through Dyslexia Compass, our peer support program.
Allowing children and families to use tools and learn methods to manage their dyslexia through the centralization of online resource materials from around the world.
Ensuring that children with dyslexia are supported through vital legislative and education changes such as improving identification, screening and recognition of dyslexia.
Advocating alongside provincial groups and parents for curriculum change at various Human Rights Commissions and Ministries of Education.
