October is Dyslexia Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness and show support for people with dyslexia across Canada. Each October, buildings and monuments across the country light up red for dyslexia awareness.
On October 1st, the Prairie Wind Monument in Saskatoon will light up in red to raise dyslexia awareness.
Gather your family and friends and visit one of these landmarks to show your support for people with dyslexia. Together, let’s help people with dyslexia feel seen, supported and understood this October.
Here’s how to participate:
1. Wear red and take a photo in front of the illuminated landmark.
2. Spread awareness by sharing your photo on social media using #dyslexiaCAN and including your own message of support.
3. Share with us! Submit your photos and videos so Dyslexia Canada can share them too.
Bring Dyslexia Awareness to Your Community
If there is a building or monument in your community that you would like to see lit up this year, you can request it directly with the staff who manage the lighting. Often, there is an online form to submit. This document has all the information you will need.
