The British Columbia Systems Change Collaborative is a brand-new professional learning network launching in fall 2026, created for district central teams leading and supporting literacy improvement across B.C.
Building on the success of a similar collaborative in Ontario, this new network has been designed specifically for the B.C. context. At a time of change to literacy policy and practice, this network is designed to support literacy leaders in putting structured literacy into practice in their systems. It will bring together literacy leaders from across the province to connect with colleagues, deepen their learning, share experiences, and learn from one another as they support system-wide change.
Literacy leadership can look different across districts, and there is tremendous value in having a dedicated space to talk about what is working, work through challenges, and share learning along the way. Sessions will be collaborative and responsive, with opportunities for participants to bring forward their own questions, experiences, resources, and approaches.
The goal is to build a strong provincial network where B.C. literacy leaders can support one another in strengthening educator learning, navigating implementation, and improving literacy outcomes for students.
Registration is intended for individuals currently employed by a B.C. public school district in central leadership roles with responsibility for literacy and system implementation, such as district literacy leads, coordinators, directors of instruction, superintendents, and other members of district central teams supporting literacy improvement.
