DESCRIPTION:Dyslexia Canada is pleased to offer this support group to families in Manitoba\, moderated by Tianna Voort and Carrie Wood. \nA dyslexia diagnosis is not required to attend. You are welcome to join us if you have a child who is having difficulty learning to read. We welcome people of all races\, religious backgrounds\, genders\, sexual orientations\, countries of origin\, ethnicities\, and abilities. \nActivities and supervision will be provided for children attending. \nRegistration is required: Register here \n*NEW* Location: Big Brothers and Big Sisters\, 532 Ellice Ave\, Winnipeg\, MB R3B1Z2 \nMeeting schedule: \n\n12:30–1:00 PM | New to the Support Group?\nThis first 30-minute session is for those who are new to the support group. If you are not new to the group\, you are welcome to join us. This portion is specifically for caregivers who are new to the group and want to learn the basics about dyslexia and what it can mean for their child. \n\nWe’re hoping some of our returning families will sign up to help lead the first 30 minutes of one of these sessions. We’ll send out more information about signing up shortly.\n\n\n1:00–1:15 PM | Break\n1:15–2:45 PM | Advocacy & Deeper Discussion\nWe’ll use this time to dive deeper into personal advocacy\, systemic advocacy\, current issues\, and supporting one another as we navigate the education system.\n\nThis is an in-person session and will not be recorded.
