The Anglophone West K-5 Literacy Team was recently recognized in the New Brunswick Legislature by David Coon, Leader of the Green Party of New Brunswick and MLA for Fredericton-Lincoln.
In his statement, MLA Coon congratulated the team on receiving Dyslexia Canada’s 2025 Educational Excellence Award and commended their work in supporting educators through professional learning focused on foundational skills instruction. His remarks highlighted how dedicated educators can drive meaningful change and strengthen literacy outcomes for all students.
The team includes Signe Williams, Tracy Davis, Shyanne McWilliams, and Sarah Carr, who have led a system-wide shift toward evidence-based reading instruction across the district, helping ensure that every child has access to effective, research-aligned teaching.
Dyslexia Canada proudly celebrates this well-deserved recognition. The Anglophone West K-5 Literacy Team’s leadership and dedication are creating stronger foundations for literacy in New Brunswick and serving as an inspiration for educators across Canada.
