Thank you to CBC News for joining us in Winnipeg to mark the release of the Manitoba Human Rights Commission’s Right to Read inquiry. The two-year investigation, launched in response to sustained advocacy by parents, consulted with hundreds of parents, students, and educators from across the province. The report highlights challenges in Manitoba’s approach to teaching children to read and makes clear recommendations for change, including better early screening, evidence-based instruction, and stronger supports for all learners.
