Congratulations to Carrie Wood, winner of our 2025 Educational Excellence Award, for being highlighted by the Winnipeg School Division in an article sharing her story and her work to improve literacy education.
Carrie is an exceptional advocate who brings both professional expertise and personal experience to her efforts. As a teacher and a parent of a child with dyslexia, she understands firsthand the importance of early identification and effective instruction. She has been a strong voice for change, recently speaking in support of Bill 225 and the need for early screening so that all children can get the help they need to learn to read.
Thank you, Carrie, for sharing your story, for inspiring others, and for working so hard to bring people together and keep children at the center of every conversation.
