Talking to your child about dyslexia

Helping your child understand dyslexia can help them accept their differences and be more confident advocating for themselves. You can explain it to them this way:

Dyslexia is

very common: you are not the only one in your class/school/neighbourhood like this;

not related to intelligence: having dyslexia doesn’t mean you are not smart;

not your fault: you haven’t done anything wrong;

not going to limit your life choices: you can succeed at anything you choose to work at.
